This is our 21oz slim straight model from the Yamato series.

These have a shallow rise and a slim straight silhouette from the crotch to the hem. We’ve used our strongest 21oz denim which is thick and textured, and has amazing fade potential. We created this fabric by taking slubby 3.6 yarn and pushing our vintage shuttle looms to the limit, resulting in a truly special denim. 

The leather patch is tanned cowhide leather and depicts the beautiful scenery of Japan. Other details include an exclusive flasher, decorative stitching (“Passing things on to future generations”), a rayon “Phoenix” label, silver-plated cherry blossom buttons, cherry blossom rivets, and indigo jacquard pocket bags. 

For the sewing, we’ve used mainly golden brown thread, with the stitch count, needle count, and stitch width all varied according to each part of the jeans to bump these up to the next level of attention to detail. Other details unique to the Yamato jeans are the original silver thread used for the locks and bobbin threads, and the black thread in the middle of the triple stitching seen in the rolled stitches and pocket openings.
